Hi Guys, was just reading the back of Castrol auto trans fluid TQ95 that it can be used for power steering fluid in the Ford & Holden power steering boxes. Is this correct.
Thanks Steve

It is correct.
But the use of Ford doesn't necesarily mean every Ford, it doesn't even necesarily include any Falcons.
Personally, i'd go to an oil manufacturers website (such as Castrols) and see what they specifically recomend for the power steering system of the specific vehicle your wanting to put it into.

Was just seeing if this is true. As I said I noticed it on the bottle. I was going to get rid of it as I don't have an auto anymore.
Thanks Steve

I use Mobil 424 Tractor trans fluid ( exactly the same as Ford R1-424), in my power steering in my EA. It works great, and lasts longer than Dex II or III ATF. I've had it in there since 2000, and have no leaks.

Found on the Castrol site that if you had a noisy power steering it recommended and said you could use the currant power steering fluid used in the Falcon AU's ,BA's and BF's. Its a bit heavier the DEXlll.

ATF might be ok in the 6cyl pumps.. but id highly advise against using it in an 8. mine was very noisey running ATF when i first got it. running the recomended powersteer fluid now.. much better.
