I have a EF XR8 and I'm getting my Tranny serviced in the following week as it is slipping a bit when its cold and the oil is burnt.

I was just wondering has anyone installed a tranny cooler to their falcon using one of the Supercheap Kits designed for a an ef falcon. I'm pretty sure it doesn't have one and I'm looking to get it running well before I start adding a fair bit more grunt in the meantime.

Is it worth me doing it at home or is it better to get it done at the tranny joint?

I had an ebay one and another fitted by a transmission place. Definately a worthwhile investment if you give the car a hard time or even if you don't.

Tranny cooler is almost a must have. keeps oil cooler meaning you have to give it a harder time to burn the oil. helps to extend the life of the trans too.

TRanny coolers are a must have especially for long distance driving, if your giving it a hard time, some places have falcon kits whish have everything u need n make it pretty straight forward if u no a bit about autos u could do it urself

MUST have.... They should be from factory with them... Last a lot longer.

Just got a Davies Craig Tranny Cooler kit to suit EF 6 and 8 cyl. Came up to $143 it was actually cheaper for the ea-ed 6 and 8 cyl kit but the brackets were different.

Will be fitting it up soon.
