asked him about an external trans cooler for an ef .he said they restrict flow and arn't worth putting in.think he said to make sure the lines to the radiator are nice and dandy and thats enough (even with engine work) to keep the trans cool. what do u reakon? You need a new transmission specialist, sounds like this guy knows jack s**t.

Maybe common on V8s? Yep Martin, thats the one. Although I think mine is a bit bigger than that. I'll have a look after work.

Funny, I asked Gregory's a few months ago and they said they don't do that.

I think 1600kg packs were the "tongue" and the 2300kg packs were the "box" fitted by Ford. I think ( Option 42 ? ) was a factory fitted oil cooler. Can someone confirm that?

I was quoted $400 fitted for a new taxi spec cooler. It's about as big as the radator, obviosuly desgined for all day every day usage.

You've got aa point there, maybe I should have said "you need to find a honest transmission specialist" surprisingly they are out there.

That would be overkill for the average driver, I bought a standard one from Bursons some years back IIRC price was around $150 for kit, self installed very easy. Standard one is about the size of the air filter.

Anyone got a pic of where a factory fitted one might be?
I got a 5.0L with heavy tow kit so I might have one. I want to know where it is. |
