I think trans coolers are a good idea even if you aren't towing!
So I'd say definately get one!

There pretty necessary if your actually going to use that tow bar! If they wern't Ford probably wouldn't of fitted them with the Factory Tow pack as we all know Ford like to cut down costs to sell it for cheaper.

I agree, Trans coolers should be a standard item on all Autos, with or without Tow bars.

If your going to fit a Towbar then a cooler is a must if you don't want transmission problems.

Never seen or heard of one.

I fitted one to my EA many years ago, I think it was around $150-$180 can't remember for sure. I bought it from Bursons (then Bevics) sorry I don't remember the brand, maybe Davis Craig.

Bursons has them for 110 dollars for a large one and they are piss easy to fitt. Highly recomend them as l nearly fried my auto towing a trailer to ballarat up hills. Overheated and p****d fluid everywhere. Since fitting cooler havent had a problem since. My tow bar is a haymen reece and yes you can remove the tounge and fill the hole with a plastic cap, just check with whoever is fitting it as they may fit just the standard non removable bar.

Does anyone know can you buy just the plastic insert for when the towbar is removed and the cost, I have a haymen reece on my EA, but no insert and the tounge is out 99% of the time.

Are you refering to the hole in the towbar that the tongue goes into or the hole in the bumper? I think he's looking to be able to hide the towbar completely.

yeah i would love to be able to hide the towbar completely, but i havnt been able to find one with the removable tounge so the plastic insert of the rear bumper can cover the towbar when the tounge is out :?

a mate of mine reckons u can get them, but no one else has been able to shed any light on the situation, i have been to Autobarn, Repco, Ford and Bursons and still no luck.... i think i will just settle for one with a removable tounge even if there is no cover for it... i will only be towing when i have to put the motorbike on the trailor to take it somewhere.... prob <1% of the time i spend driving....
