Hey Guys,
Post as stated auto works great until it gets a bit of temp in it, then it starts shifting reasonably roughly, but doesnt slip.... Doesnt happen all the time but usually is the case on long trips or melb traffic. I drive my car normally and never thrash it.... And since this problem i let go of the accelerator when near gear change and it wont do it as hard... I have seen a few post regarding a S5 solenoid replacment but on futher searching I dont know if this is a reasonble home job or a trans specialist I would like to do it myself but need directions on the replacment if this is the case... My trans oil is clean and full so its not a drama there... Ford EF 95.. Thankyou in advance

mmm
i would suggest an Trans cooler fitted to help with the heat problem.. S5 can be done at home but if u are not sure a tranny shop will be a better option

im selling a gearbox with this exact symptom (or throwing it in the bin lol)
its a S5 solenoid. Chuck a AU one in. Should be apples again until another solenoid craps it or the clutches burn out. Fitting a big a*** trans cooler helps its life immensly
