hey all. I'm getting e 27 error code on the trans diagnostics (EF XR8). From what I understand when you put the gear selector into gear a specific voltage is sent to the ECU so it knows what gear it is and then this is sent to the TCM via the serial link.

When you move the switch it goes into gear, reverse, park & neutral but if the voltages are screwing up could this cause the trans to go into limp mode?

I haven't probed the ECU pin to see if the voltages are buggered but thought I would ask anyhow.

Any ideas?

change the gear position switch and check the shifter it lined up properly. Undo the shifter from the box and put the box in park move the shifter to park and put it back on and make sure it all lines up.

Thanks man, I tested the voltages from the switch and they are all within range. It turned out to be the VSS causing the limp mode. I had a USA VSS in the car but have since put the original one back in.
