Hi

Was wondering what’s the tool called that is used to do a barb type flare to just put rubber hose on and clamp it??

Reason for asking is that the bottom transmission fitting in the ba ghia is still weeping and the fitting is done up as tight as possible and just want to cut that off and just flare the pipe that’ll allow a hose and clamp to go straight on.

What’s the chance of any good year tyre place having that tool that’ll do a barb type flare in a different spot and just put hose on and clamp it.

How long would it roughly take to do it just to get a idea on likely labour cost?

Would a hours labour be enough??

If anyone knows and can reply tonight that’d be great so can then go see the local good year about it and ask if they can just cut that fitting off and flare pipe in a different spot that’ll allow rubber hose to go straight on and clamp.

Was just going to cut off rubber hose also at that fitting and use a barb joiner to extend hose to different spot where the new flare would be

As the leak is behind the flare nut could you do a dodgy repair with high temp gasket maker silicone just to give you a couple weeks if it comes to that to get it done properly.

Thanks
