A mate of mine has a EBII 6cyl and
he was driving along when suddenly the transmission went into limp mode..

He then drove at 80k's p/hr and the car suddenly stopped..It wouldn't start until the battery had been disconnected for 30mins...

He has been told the transmission is stuck in third gear and takes off very slowly..

Can anyone please help him?

Well since the EEC controls the box in these models, i would dought it could be that, not a very common thing to brake.

The netural switch are comon to fault, as they also tell the EEC what gear it is in, so if say left disconected, it shouldnt shift, but stay in 3rd all the time

Also could explain why it wasnt starting, same switch assemblie

I should mention that the car will start and all gears are available but when the car is in drive
it is locked in 3rd gear and drive off slowly..Thanks for the replies..
