Gday everyone; i replaced the tranny fluid Sunday; heated her up, dropped the pan, washed it in hot water and soap, rinsed, replaced filter (old filter seal removed + clip put back on properly), pumped in 3.2Litres of fluid in first go, ran for a bit, then pumped in another 500mL, another run, followed by another 50mL's pumped in.
-Keep in mind, while doing this, only the front of the car was jacked up, so the levels may be a little under, is this ok? After which i travelled 400km's highway driving, smooth changes, everything seemed fine Smoother than what it was actually! -Is it ok to assume everything is ok? The old fluid was dark, but there were no clutch pieces in there. The magnet on the inside of the oil pan had a little build up though, all washed off The transmission had a BTR sticker, the alloy for the trans looked a lot newer than the motor (at 185,000km's) -Is the BTR transmission a replacement or are they fitted in the factories?

Its a 98 EL Falcon Futura Automatic.
I heated up te engine before and after the three top ups of fluid First go took 3.2 litres Second took 500mL's Third go took 50mL's Close enough to the recommended 3.8? Its not slipping, its running well. Gregories Guide says: "Dont top up unless the fluid levels are EXCESSIVELY low!" I'll check it in a week and top it up when i get a chance to get the back up as well Any thoughts? Thanks again Matt
