How old is your FG? you will lose your warranty on the gear train.
I could do a better price than that but it will still cost you some $$$.

Why 3.27's?

Assuming you've got the ZF auto, go for 3.46's (easy to find from all the manual owners after they upgrade to 4.11's)

because 3.27 is good for the power im making to be a good all round gear plus i don't have a m86 diff so 3.46 is harder to come by even still 3.27 will be a step up from 2.73 and my x3 don't have a file for 3.46 on the fg's

There's two different diffs used in the B series.

BW78 and BW86

the 78 is the smaller of the two and found in n/a 6's
The 86 is stronger, and found in 6t's and all 8's.

the number is a rough size of the crown wheel. e.g. 7.8" and 8.6"

The gear set are obviously not interchangeable.

yeah 3.23:1 will fit but i realy want 3.27's or 3.46's
im prity sure the m76 diff is a 28 spline and the m86 is a 32 spline. the 3.27 ratio is found in gas falcons.
id realy like new gears but if i can get a good set of 2nd hand gears they will do

There are two types in FG, M80 4 pinion and M86 2 Pinion.
The only listing I Can find for the 3.27 Diff ratio is for an M80, I thought ALL FG XR's used the M86?

M86 uses a 220mm Diameter gear set and you can get the 3.46 ratio for them but the 3.27 is ONLY used on the NON LSD M80. The M80 uses 28 splines and the M86 uses 30.

Crown Wheel and Pinion, BAC 4209 B $1242.00 retail.

mine is definatly a M80, cause i had that drama when i bought my lsd from harrop, they sent me a m86 center then a AU center, then finaly the right 1 wich turned out to be the same part number as a VZ SS commodore :S. Acording to my diff shop the gear sets have been on back order for ages from Dana.

Does Melbourne have any instock or does tomson ford get them direct from dana?
