i'm in talking with a company about have a set of internals made for the T5 gear box..

at pressent they are no longer in production for lack of interest.
I would need to garranty that 10 will be sold for a limmited run to be made.
the cost will most likely be between $4000 and $5000 dollars.

the kit would consist of H/D input, main and lay shafts, and billet shift forks.
the current design is a dog engagement, but it has been agreed that for this run they will be made with syncro mesh. bringing the price down from the previous $6500 to between $4000 and $5000.

please post any interest and comments.

PS. i will not profit from this at all. i'm only trying to help out those that are in need and secure my self one of the ten boxes

What sort of gears will be in them? Are they re-hardening the std gears or machining up new gears.

Ask them if they are changing the tooth profile or contact ratio.

What testing procedure do they use to ensure the gearboxes are of a higher standard (torque load x life) than the current ones?

Considering you could buy 5 normal T5's for the same price you would want them to be good!

yeah i should have gone into more detail at the start. and we all just got off on the foot... no biggy.

i'll go into every thing thats has gone on so far with ppg.

I spent about an hour on the phone with them the other day as the as the lastest info packs we got at work showed a H/D dog engaugement gear set for the T5. my boss and I both have cars running T5 boxes. mine my XR6 wich is fine with a stock for now but we all have future plans......

My boss has his VN V8 fitted with a very worked L34 torana 308. that is currently getting a freshen up, We know the EB GT/SPRINT T5 that it has is not up to what is going to get dished to it.

It turned out that they only sold 2 T5 gear sets in 3 years so they stoped making them.. part of low sales was that the set was only offered as dog engaugement. the other part was not alot of people knew about it.

They want a definate order for 10 or more gear sets to make a run.

all gear sets are PPG designed with there own tooth profile and ratios.

a photo of the design can be seen at the above link.

it seems the biggest concern people have are COST, NOISE and the exact power they are capable of.

i dont' want to be calling them every second day with new questions and make a pain of my self. so how about we all post up our questions and comments i'll what for a week get all the common and mayjor questions together and call them then.

all i ask is that this is kept on topic and not to bring it back to a "but you get this one for that much fight"
I want this thread to have only the relevant questions and info on the ppg gears. so we can all make up our own minds with out the need for argueing. If you want to talk about other boxes pleace start your own thread.
