well on the bathurst cruise I got a fair sized bubble in the side of the tyre, castlegreyskull can vouch for it... ive only had the mags about a yr or so, dad suggested I take it back to the place I got them from thinking that it shouldnt really happen that quick or at all.
Is he right? should I go back to the place? as in do u think the tyre is faulty or would they just say that it happens? |

Yeah its a bastard of a thing guys, looks pretty dodgy and i cant see how it would have happened in the place it did. But then again maybe you hit something aaron that caused it, have you cheacked the other side of the tyre where the bubble is?

some tyres have lifetime warrenty's, but this normally means free puncture repairs and im pretty sure that the warrenty is not even associated with the tyre brand itself, just something offered by whoever fitted it. as for the bubble in your sidewall i doubt you will have any luck, but hey nothing ventured nothing gained.

It should be covered by the tyre manufacturer. All tyres have lifetime warranty against defects.
Take it back to where you got it from.

good luck with the tyre joint.
we had the same problem with dunlops factory fitted to our au2 cab bubble on the inside sidewall, ford dealer didn't wanna hear abt it, beurepair was the same, so dad went down to the dunlop factory and in five minutes a new pair of tyres were on the car.

Ive had a tyre bubble that was caused by nothing, had them on for a week, barly drove the car, and it came after a long run on the freeway, not potholes or planks of wood or anything had been driven over.
Some tyres can get them due to incosistant manufacture process. I looked into this quite well when they refused to replace my tyre that had done maybe 40km FFS. They ended up replacing it and eating their words.

If the tyre joint wont do anything, try and get in direct contact with the manufacturer.

when air is under extreme pressure it split the layers or find the weakest part to escape. also excessive tyre roll around Bathurst could of cause it. it can also be a defect as mentioned above.

sounds like your fault, had same problem afew times when i lived out west. when your doing highway miles especialy extended miles you have to have tyre presures smack on sometimes a little higher if carrying a bit of a load. the tyre heats up to much and the tyre starts to delaminated causing the bubble. bet you had a bad vibration at first and it can come and go depending on speed, had mine blow out goin to stanthorpe once. ive had it happen on dunlops, bridgstones even good ol bob jane all rounders . always been long highway trips . guys told me it use to happen a lot in the 70,s when carrying bigger loads but not changing tyre pressures to suit hope this helps
