Just bought some slighty oversized tyres and am worried the tyre is gonna hit the suspension on the top/inside of the tyre on the fronts
The new 'unfitted' tyres are 225/60R16, and the tyres on now are 205/60R16 and they are about 10mm below the steering arm(?) and thats at 30% tread According to the miata tyre calculator the new tyres will have 12mm more radius so looks to go too close? Has anyone fitted these size tyres before? |

Yeah that would go real close IMO, depending on rim width and offset.
Thats a weird size too, 225/50 is what is generally fitted to 16s for these things.

I currently have 205/75's on 15x6 EF/EL steelies on the front of my EB, and they just clear the steering upright. They are around 27" O.D.
On the back my 235/75R15's definitely fill the rear guards, they are around 29" O.D. Although if i shortened the suspension arms or removed the petrol tank i could go a tad bigger.
