Below is a pic of what im talking about, and currently its alot closer than that because i fitted higher profile tyres, so the gap now is only 3mm.
Its currently on Lows and the question is, if i fit superlows on the front, will the tyre come closer to hitting, OR does it always stay the same distance apart regardless of how low the car is? |

Indeed it will stay the same, as the stub axle that the tire is mounted to is part of that upright.

it will stay the same no matter how low or high the car is..
the distance from the tyre to the top of the stub depends on the tyre profile not suspension height.. as the stub axle assemble is a solid piece and the whole wheel and stub moves together with the suspension... if that makes sence???? |

ok thanks, good to hear.
I already wasted $250 on new tyres cause they were hitting that bit. Settled for 215/60 and they 'just' clear it |

I don't really want to say it, but you could try wheel spacers. Up to 8mm might be all you need. And maybe skim a bit of metal off the balljoint if possible and if it helps.

because the ever popular 225/50 is actually an undersized tyre, and requires more car dumpage to look ok.
and higher profile tyre makes for a smoother ride, and fills the guards a little at the same time |

these wheels came up at a good price so i bought them. Wheels arent really a priority to me, better than the stockies i was riding on before lol plus show me some 'cheap' & DECENT LOOKING pre- au 17" wheels in QLD .... most people upgrade to 17's just for the sake of a bigger size, regardless how s**t the design is |

But i have a speedo corrector so its still all reading right. Where did you get the info about legalities involving wheel O.D.'s? I had only ever heard of the speedo needing to be within X%. If what you say is true heaps of 4wd's are illegal.
