Ride: EL Fairmont Ghia

Location: Sydney
NSW, Australia

Howdy all.

I want to keep the factory 15 x 7 wheels on my EL Ghia (polished 12 spokes, sweet). Can i fit a 235 width tyre on them? Would i see any improvement in ride over the stock 205's (Brand new bob jane all rounders)

Ideas on performance rubber for the wheel size.....

Forget about 235's on a 15" rim..... they will fit nice, but the price they fetch is ridiculous. I think Jetzon brand are the cheapest but are still around the 160 mark each. Then you have the Yoko's at 220 each

Theres plenty of 225's getting around at a good price. Usually 120 each

I ran a set of 225/60/15's on my EB for ages.
The ride quality was good and she handled sweet.

I'm running a new set of Toyo Trampios [215-60-15] on one of my cars with 15x7s and they are the best handling tyre I've ever had, especially in the wet. I've also got Goodyear Eagles 205-60-15 [15x7 Futura] and Michelin MXF 225-50-16s [16x8s] on the others.
There's no need to go wider than 225s on a 15x7 as said above, no gains there and a top quality 215 can also produce the goods over the 205s, as the Trampios proved to me on a trip to Qld this week.
Cheers,
Paul

i've got bridgestone potenza G3s 225/60R15 on mine. f**k awesome tyre, sticks like s**t to a blanket, seem to be getting good life out of them, done about 10000 km on the front and are still pretty good.

225s look good on 15" rims too, look fat!! looks as wide as 235s on 17s or bigger

I am running 225/60/15 Bridgstone taranza I am about to hit 80,000K on them over the past 1 & 1/2 Years. :D
The only thing I must say is rotating them every 10,000 and I only realy drive highway KM.

Since the Fuel Price has gone up I am about to go 215/70/15 Has anyone else gone that size??

I know they wil fit as I have raised the AU Back due to LPG but by my calculations I should get an extra 17km per 100km so extra dist and save on fuel.

any problem anyone see?? :? :?:
