As much as I'd like to buy them now, it looks like i'm going to have to put off the new rims for at least another year.
So I need to replace my existing tyres, on standard EL fairmont rims I was thinking of Bridgestone Grid II's 215/60/15 at $137ea, as I have always used Bridgestone tyres. Does anyone else have these tyres and know what they are like?

Dude, i can sell you my ticky rims for a little more than what you will pay for replacement tyres. Justa thought, look in the forsale section. I will be down your way in just over 3 weeks, so keep it in mind

Thanks for the offer, but I will be looking at 17" possibly with hub adaptors for late model AU-BA wheels.

Go 225s on the rear and 215s up front.
But as terrorist (Brett) said, you might as well just get some rims or his even to save yourself the effort or money. Second hand tyres are always a good choice, i picked up another sxy bridgestone 245/40/18 for the front for $70 the other day with 80% tread.. cheaper then $350 new! |

I just put on a full set of okohama c.drive's 225/60/15 all round, $150 a corner, stuck em on eastern creek and they went fantastic, also been on the highway with em the next day and damn they are quiet, I had bot a set of yokie a539's and bridgestone gIII previously, the c.drives leave em both for dead in every field.
but thats just my opinion, take it or leave it..

I have heard the C-drives are pretty damn good.
Also like the ES100s as well ... they are a nice tyre too. I have had the A539s before ... and they were a great tyre too. If I don't use Yoko ... I prefer Dunlop.

Gees the A539 or C-Drive sound alright then. I am finally lowering the Fairmont to about XR6 spec or just a bees d**k lower but am scared s**t of making the ride rough and making the dash self destruct from the harshness. These tyres may be the thing to put on the car hey.
