Hi - I am thinking of fitting Ultima shockers all round on my EL wagon. Has anybody heard of / tried this brand. They are priced quite well and have a 3 year / 100,000km warranty. The struts come with bump stops etc.
Any feed back about shocks would be appreciated.

Thanks

Got them on my white car and for the money imo cannot be beat. They are well constructed from appearances and look allot stronger than the Munroe's the shaft is twice as thick and the spring carrier is constructed better. But this was about 1 1/2 years ago so the quality may have gone up or down in that time.

Do the shocks feel the same front and rear???

Id went boge with my car and found the front to be good in regards to firmness but rear was about 30% softer which i didnt like.

Is this the same case with Ultima shocks???

Im not sure about the comparison between the front and rear rebound and dampening as i run air shocks in the back of the white car so i can adjust the rear ride height to suit the big drags tires.

Save yourself a lot of heartache and spoil yourself to eternal happiness - get Bilsteins - sell one of the kids or a kidney if you have to....

for the money they are good units.

ive got a set in mine, but i cant say what their difference is over stock, as i put in lowered dobinson springs and nolathane bushes all round at the same time.

the nolathane means you feel every damn bump in the road, so i cant comment on harshness.

they have the variable valve technology, which means they are supposed to be soft on easy corners, and firm up when you push it.

in all im happy with the setup in the au, the springs are not too firm, and the shocks do a good job keeping it all together. turns in a shedload better, and sits very flat. i went low front, superlow rear and there is almost no forward pitch at all under hard brakes.

if anything it needs thicker sway bars to suit the new setup.

will see how long they last, been in for about 10 months now.
