I'm looking at getting the GT Gas Monroes (sensarides - or whatever they are called are a bit too dear) but have also heard the Ultimas are just as good - plus they are a bit shorter which is good for lower springs. Any of you guys with experience on this? Would be great to especially hear from someone who has had experience with both Monroes and Ultima

Firstly The Ultima shocks as you said are the shortened type, now Monroe dont make a shortened shock so they are two different types in the first place. If the car is lowered just go with the Ultima, if the car is stock standard and not an XR go with Monroe. I put some Ultima's on a mates EB and they felt fine with Superlows all round. Good value for money and came with new bump stops.
