Gave the car a bit of a squirt today and the wife goes "That was piss weak" so the next corner i really let it fly with wanting to let the a*** end slide right out BUT coming into the corner the front wanted to keep going straight with one wheel spinning it's tits off.

How can i correct the understeer and make it more over steer?

i do hope to get the car lowered with a camber kit in the next few months but is there anything i can do before that?

A free way to do it is to bump up the rear tire pressures.
Another is to do more burnouts so your rear tires are s**t :P
When you lower it, look at getting some aftermarket swaybars.
Adjustable ones would be good if you like to tinker with your handling.
Stiffer rear bar, more oversteer.

Stiifen up the front suspension.

Most cars are made to understeer, as that is the safest "slide", as the natural reaction is to either brake or reduce the throttle, thus regaining control of the vehicle by slowing down.

The average driver cannot control oversteer, and generaly overcorrects, making things worse.

In general, stiffening up the front ,makes the back "looser" and vice versa.

Use the pedal on the right.

don't accelerate so hard into the corner and boot it while your turning. or come in to the corner really slow and boot and turn sharp, that never fails me... on closed roads anyway

That doesn't help so much when it comes to cornering at speed, unless you've got alot of horsepower.
Depending on how your suspension is setup too, you can use bumps in the roads to skip the a*** out a bit, and get you round a corner a bit quicker.

easiest way I find, come to a near stop before the turn, If your going right, offset the car to the left bout 25 degrees, then punch it whilst turning the wheel hard to the right.

Are we talking about just ripping it sideways, or cornering quickly here???

yeah it wasn't fast into the corner and i had booted it, the a** just didn't want to let go.
Prolly doesn't help all that much being in the dry and a single spinner, but i do have a XR front swaybar ready to go in (Cheers uglybob) so i guess rather than doin silly things liek wrecking the rears i'll wait till i get the suspension done and a LS Diff installed.

cheers for the info fella's

I cant get mine to understeer on normal roads, even on a skidpan it took quite a bit of effort and speed.
Ive got lowered springs, bilstein shocks, larger sway bar, polyurethane bushes and good tyres.
Its a pity the rear end cant be made to hold on like the front (without an IRS conversion) Ive actually had it snap oversteer a few times with little or no throttle in hard cornering, can be quite disconcerting. So in some ways ive made it handle too well, the front is still gripping then BAM the a** is swinging like a pendulum.

Sometimes you have to sacrifice overall grip in the name of stability, especially with a live rear axle.
Look at the AU V8 supercars.
I remember reading an interview with lowndes I think it was, where he said they had to intentionally make the rear of the car skittish simply to stop it understeering.
Neither of my cars are too bad.
Sprint pushes the nose a bit wide if you go too hard, probably because it's got a bit more weight over the front.
Fairmont is pretty neutral (or was, sava intensas do not a performance tire make).
Running all whiteline goodies.
27mm front, 24mm rear bar.
Can bring the a*** around (not break traction) a bit with some liftoff oversteer.

ugh.
Compression lockup isn't good for anything!
Just buy an XR6, oversteer no worries!
