Hello everyone at FordMods, this is my first post! ive being wondering for a while now, and thought someone here might have an idea.... why the heck my car, a 94 EF i6, sits higher on the left side than the right! Even when its on perfectly level ground it tilts to the right! Meaning the left side of the car has about an inch and a half gap between the tyre and the guard, and the right side sits perfect, level with the tyre and the guard. I had the car lowered 40mm by a friend whos a machinic about 18 mths ago and i havent actually noticed anything till now. I did go and see a suspension place about it 3 weeks ago, and they reckon theres nothing wrong with my suspension, Do u maybe think it's a twisted body??

Here's a starting point.
Have you got any heavy items in the car? Put the car on level ground and measure both fronts and rears from hub centre to guard and write down. eg fr fl rr rl Next measure both sides and again front and rear from jacking points to ground. How did your mate lower the car, new spring sets?, cut springs?, Clamped them in oven? Get back when you have this info. Grumbles

The rear springs must be fitted as left and right. The springs should be marked as such, the front springs can be fitted either side. Ensure that the front springs are seated correctly in both the strut seat and the top rubber seat. If the springs are super lows ensure that the rear shocks trap the springs, if they dont and the car is jacked up the spring can move and come out of the spring seats giving that side more height. If the shocks dont trap the springs its also unroadworthy and will need shortened shocks to fix this.

Maybe a huge fat f**k used to own it? not stupid either, i have seen 2 cars where 300kg houses have been sitting in the seat, and the drivers side was lower than the offside lol, true story.

There was a thread about this on Ford Forums, and heaps of people had it, except left was lower not right. I think its cos of fuel tank. Mines way lower on the left.

Shocks dont determine height unless its a vehicle fitted with SLS or air shocks on rear. |

This is the reason why the rear springs must be fitted to correct side. They should be marked as left and right. |

Come to think of it now, im more than convinced that my machinic friend (whos an apprentice) has put the rear springs in the wrong way round, none the less, not to worrie, will have to make him fix it! Thank you for your time
