would dba sloted rotors on the front of my fairlane make a noticable difference and would it be worth getting the rears done as well?
one more question but would they fit inside the stock15in wheels? cheers

just looking at rotors andfrom what i have heard they are about $250 each if im correct

I'm not too sure if they're that much $$$$
But i've only got them on the Front of mine atm and they've seemed to work pretty well. I also got Ultimate Pads when the discs were replaced. I can't fault them yet. |

yeah,with the luxo barge ive got the cars weight can get over 2 tonnes with 5 people in the car and with the cup saucer rotors ive got the rears will defenantly be an option for me.
so elxr8 your sayin about $400 for the 2 front rotors r u ?

yeah i would think thats about all they would be, if not cheaper.
About a year ago when i knew less than i do now 
I paid just under $500 or $600 for Slotted Discs on the Front and ultimate Pads to suit. That was installed by a mechanic. So if you can do it yourself, that should knock about $100 or more off the price i paid. Plus i'm sure he marked up the price on the discs and pads a little too. Personally i thought they were around the $150 mark for the discs and about $70-$80 for Ultimate pads. |

DBA Slotted discs are around $120 ea I believe. Good sport Pads like ultimates are generally $120-160 a pair. So allround your looking at probably around $750 for all discs and pads. Add to that wheel bearings, grease, perhaps a set of braided lines and Dot 5 fluid, and if your not doing it yourself....labour.

thats the figure i had in my head . but i still need to know wheather or not the dba rotors will fit into the stock 15in wheels cheers

They're no bigger than the stock ones. If you wanted bigger rotors, you then have to worry about, relocating the calipers, and bigger wheels. But the DBAs are a swap out / swap in replacement.

Yes, they are definately worthwhile!!
I have DBA slotted on my fairlane with EBC Greenstuff pads and it brakes a whole new level better! I paid 135 each for the rotors and 160 for the pads. best gain for the least money that i have spent on the Fairlane so far......

just looked at your brakes hard labour and it looks like the rear disc is bigger than the front
the stock disc size is 289mm for the front i think. whereabouts can i get these rotors from for a good price . im up in newcastle too

There is no real gain from running slotted, or drilled slotted rotors in every day driving conditions, and the difference, if you were able to even tell would be that bloody minimal that you could never guage it. The reason for the slots, or holes as well is for "out gassing" which basically is when a brake pad gets bloody hot, it expands, and creates gas, which can escape through the slot/holes.
If you want to have better brake feel when hitting the pedal, you need greater mechanical advantage on the pedal, or more fluid to the calipers, or a more agressive pad, causing more friction between the pad and rotor. The best start is to change pad material, then get a different master cylender. After that, larger rotors, calipers etc. are the go, but you will never feel any difference with slotted rotors in every day use. If you think you can, I believe its just the "wow" factor of how they look that makes you think they work better. |

I just machined my front discs at the same time that I replaced the front pads with Greenstuff. It stopped much better than stock and it's cheaper too.
