hey dude ive got 18's on mine and i put koni shocks front and rear.. with dobinson extra super low springs.. i had 60mm clearence at my lowest point... i got a yellow sticker about 2 months ago so i had to lift it only way was to put coilovers in the front cause u have to 100mm clearence all round fron the lowest point and u have to have no less then 500mm from the bottom of the headlight to the ground... so putting the coilovers in i can noe drop it like 40mm of the ground or lift it so it looks like a awd:)

Timmeh, is this the mont or the XR6? Auto or manual? I've got a tow kit on my XR (5spd) and I was going to take it off before I get my kit fitted and suspension done (luckily by the sounds). Dont wanna get bilstein's for it and then have problems with height difference.

It was for the Mont Ghia. The car is level FTR XR6. I took the tow kit off only because it was the heavy duty one. I wouldnt of if it was a normal one.
The Fairmont Ghia V8 is an auto. Only came in auto.

If you are going to get your suspension done do it after you have taken your tow kit off.

Yeah I got that sorted.

Just need to save for them.

I'm getting the AMG Quake 18" rims with Fulda tyres all for about $2200.

what spec springs are they?
Lows? super lows?
do you have any drivline vibraitions now?

I got super lows in the back of mine and there is a bloody annoying vibration now. i have done unis and got all wheels balanced. but i have been told i need adjustable upper control arms for the rear to adjust pinion angle. sorry for being off topic and i just wanna know if anyone else has had it occur or is my car just being a piece of crap

Your car looks great. Need some limo tint now :D

They are a German brand that have gotten awards all over Europe.

The tread pattern is very effective for removing water and it looks awesome.

They are about $320 per tyre for 18" but the guy said he'd give them to me for $250.

Actually it removed the vibrations I did have. Because it had a heavy duty tow kit the springs were very tough in the back and I could feel something very slight.
Now it has all been replaced and lowered there is zero vibration now.
You would need to take it to a transmission place and get it sorted out.
There was an article in Street Machine or Perth Street Car (I cant remember which one) that had the problem your talking about. They adjusted either the diff by rotating it a little and the problem went away.

As far as my tint I need to change the back windscreen because its all blurry but it isnt bubbled. Maybe I might make it darker. :D

not to try and promote another business on here but in perth my mate got his vt sedan done in desert smoke 20 by www.tkotinting.com for $250, not sure how that is in the price range of things, but he seems to do a excellent job and well, as you can see in the pics section, he does heaps of different styles.

edit: on that note, is this SVO XR6's car??

I to vouch for his work, a car club I was in in Perth he is a member of and has done many of the cars in the club. He does an amazing job and as soon as I need new 20% I'll be going to him....even if I have to drive a couple of hundred k's to get to him.

One thing tho Tim, just be careful how dark you go. I have 20-25% tint I think and it makes it VERY difficult to see out the back of the car in poorly lit areas when reversing etc.
