i have a ef that suffered flood damage and water got in the auto, the box still works fine but the fluid looks like melted caramel icecream, i have dropped the pan off and drained it but i am guessing the torque converter will be s**t too. any ideas how to get the water/fluid out without pulling the box out ?

Would be easier to go to an Auto Servicing Place and get it flushed professionally. Should only set you back $100-$150. Saves you the hassle aswell.

Dont use small mechanics some of them use all transmission type fluid which the btr doesnt like, your better off using a trusted brand, valvoline make a trans fluid for ford btr transmissions and its pretty good I did mine the other day

just service it (drop pan, change filter, top up) and put pan on of course lol!
then remove 1 trans cooler line off the radiator and put u bit of hose onto the radiator brass fitting and put both ends into a container, start it up and it'll start flowing out until the auto is empty. keep topping the auto up until it comes out nice and red into the catch container. then re-fit all pipes etc and top up auto one last time and you hopefully will be all sweet. may need like 15-20L of ATF depending how much water got in the auto
