i dont get my car i was dragging a few cars the other night and when i went to take of in first gear it poped out and made the biggest thump also when i was quick shifting to second gear and also 3rd gear it would just rev out not go any were then just catch on al of a suddern

Clutch might be slipping, or your clutch cable is jamming itself, check for any kinks and if you can, remove the cable and see if it flows freely.

when mine did this it was a slipping clutch cable sprayed it with silicon lube and never had it happen again. also check to see if the firewall around the clutch cable is cracked

ohh ok sweet i know the clutch cable is a bit old because the plastic coating has worn off some places. the fire wall shoulnt be cracked because its only freshly been a manual and if its the clutch slipping ill be mad because it only 2 months old

Did you check the nut that holds the gear lever into the Gearbox? ( if it is a 4 speed single rail )

IMO i doubt that you have major issues as my friends old EB did this but it was more of a case of not inserting the clutch and putting the gear in properly, the whole popping out of gear thing in some cars is just a simple case of not fully inserting the gear stick. i would just take a nice senisble drive and see what it does if it pops out then, you may need to either adjust your clutch cable also if you have a clutch slipping problem still you may have shaved some life of ya clutch. If it doesn't do anything stupid it might have been just hot and bothered.

yeah i have realized some times when i put it in first it feels weired like its not in properly it poped out yester day when i dumped the clutch when i was already moving.
as for the slipping im hoping it was just beacuse i had a bit of a load in the car and giving it to much when i drive sensible the car is fine

To test for clutch slip put the car in 3rd and drop the revs to about 1200rpm, then floor it and hold it there. As you feel the revs build and the car comes into its torque curve you will feel or see the revs all of a sudden increase. If it does this then the clutch is slipping, which could be due to a binding cable or you may have over heated the clutch and the friction material and pressure plate/flywheel is glazed.
If the cable is ok, then just drive the car normal for a while and eventually the pressure plate, flywheel and clutch plate will wear the surface off and it will come back to normal. I suppose you could test the cable by getting a friend to push the clutch pedal in and out and have a look and see what the thrust plate is doing under the car, just open that plastic box on the side of the bell housing, get a mate to work the pedal and get him to tell you when the clutch is all the way in and all the way out and see if the thrust plate is releasing the same compared to the movement of the pedal.

doesn't hurt to check the firewall if you have been smashing the clutch in and out with a heavy clutch, even if its only been manual for a little while...haha it should be the first thing done after buying/converting to manual
