I'm about to embark on the upgrading of my ED farimonts suspension.. i'm leaning towards getting a whiteline "works" kit, and i've heard there good, but the nearest place that is a "preferred dealer" is centreline suspension in thomastown.. it ain't that far but my question is, is it worth the hastle of getting my car across there and picking it up, or is "the suspension centre" in sunshine capable of building me up a similar kit? basically what i'd like to know from you guys is, any recommended friendly and knowledgable (and competitively priced) workshops over this side of the city that you've dealt with?
your thoughts and opinions would be a great help

Dude if you're going to go to Sunshine, definately check out Tyrepower Sunshine for their prices.
They use King Springs and a few different brands of shocks, you can choose pretty much whatever you want. I know of about 10 mates who have all had their suspension work done there, and no problems yet! Plus they're extremely cheap..... Definately check them out. |

Dont go to the tyre factory in sunshine as they are a bunch of arrogant c**ts and dont know s**t from clay when you ask them any type of technical question.

Yeah i'll second that last comment.
DO NOT go to the Tyre Factory in Sunshine, plus i've heard around the traps that, when you pay and give them your address its a bad idea. A few people have had their new rims knocked off. They all gave their details to the guys at the Tyre Factory. Plus my mate only had one wheel nut still tight after he bought and got his rims put on, after about 200kms. Needless to say he wasnt happy. |

I say go to Whiteline, Pedders or anyone who sells the Kmac kits. Anyone can whack springs, shocks and sways in a car. But the afforementioned companies actually put R&D money into their products so the whole kit works as a whole, and included is a lot more than shocks, springs, sways. Many people overlook bushes, they are extremely important to the handling of any car IMO.

yeah i wanted to go for the white line kit, which includes polyurethane bushes, their own design rear control arms, and adjustable camber and caster control.. i think ill just bite the bullet, save up a bit more cash and do it.. anyone delt with centreline before? i've got a really bad habit of once i go somewhere to get work done, even if i think there dodgy, i cant be f**k going anywhere else so i just do it... its the lazy bastard inside of me

I got mine done at a place in North Melbourne called Suspension City.
I got new King springs (low), the gabriel gas rides and reset leafs all for around $550, fitted. So they were very good and very quick, ute feels great.

yeah i've heard bad things about the tyre factory.. got my ANZ FTRs from there, paid cash and the guy took, shock horror, 10 whole dollars off the price.. f**k wanker... anyway a dramatic change of events might see me buy an XR8 sprint, which means i won't have the money to overhaul its suspension for quite awhile.. but it should handle a bit better then a fairmont with gas anyway...
