Anyone got any ideas for a suitable diff that will bolt into an xf ute which has a 3.45 ratio?

I don't know what the ratio of my current diff is but it is definitely too tall for the engine and auto I'm running, AU vct 4.0 and 4 speed auto. From what I can tell the 3.45 ratio was used in the AU xr6 so this seems the best choice, anyway I thought I'd give that ratio a try.

Also is it very difficult to change out the crown and pinion gears? This would seem the obvious way to go but not many people seem to go this way, instead changing the whole diff assembly?

Thanks for any info.

XR6 diff from an XG ute will be 3.45 LSD, and will have disc brakes to boot....all the prake brake stuff should fit, if not, with a little work, it should.
Even an ED XR6 wagon diff will work too.

Thanks for that, I was hoping there was a basic model falcon that came out with that ratio, doesn't really matter tho but xr6 stuff seems to always be a bit more expensive.

Cheers.

True, but I don't think he wants the stuff round of doing that.....just a bolt in and go, me thinks.
