Hi everyone. I want to put a LSD Diff center in my ef 6cyl fairmont. As you have probably worked out i have a open wheeler. What type of LSD diff center will fit. Is the one out of the ef and el xr6's the right one to get.

What are the right gear ratios to suit my car????
your help will be much appreciated.

cheers

Any 78 series borg warner hemisphere.

VN como, and upto AU ford.

EA-EB come with 25 spline axles, so they wont do.

Pretty easy to find a 3.23:1 lsd, but your car would suit a 3.45 (XR) diff.

I sold one yesterday for $200.

But you can pay upto $650 for a basic 3.45:1 lsd diff.

assuming your car is an auto (no 5speed in your sig) dont go under 3.45:1 diff ratio. These were used in the xr's but in a lot of opinions should have been the factory standard ratio.

a lot of boys around here used 3.9:1 and 3.7:1 with a few running 4.11:1.

personally Id use the 3.7's (im actually after a set of 3.7 gears myself)

3.9's not too bad either if you can sacrifice a few extra hundered rpms at highway speed over the 3.7's.

3.7's looking at about 2250rpm at 100ks, 2400rpm at 120.
