i need to know what oil to run in both mine and my gf's car. and also if a CA20 Corsair has adjustable rockers and if so what gap should they be set too.
okay my EB just had a EB XR6 full Tickford engine put in. had 240,000kms on it. when cold it has 3 bar of oil pressure. once warmed up at idle it drops to 1.5bar but once you rev it, it comes up to 2bar. the motor is as quiet as a mouse except when warm on start up there's a slight lifter tick but pretty much immediately goes away. i will be running a Motorcraft filter also the GF's Corsair has the CA20 twin spark motor and has a constant rocker tick. so thats why i was wondering are they adjustable? and also what oil should i run? it has about 250,000kms on it. i'm asking your opinion now because beforehand the engine that was in it had a savage bottom end knock so all i ran was 25w60 and a motorcraft filter.

I'm pretty sure the rockers are adjustable in the Corsair....can't remember the settings.
There should be a sticker on the bonnet or in the engine bay somewhere saying that info. I use Mitsubishi engine oil in my ED. it is dark green in colour, 15W50, and a Motorcraft oil filter. I also add Nulon E20 as well.

Corsair valve clearence,
Yes they are adjustable, Run the engine till the fans cut in and turn it off, remove the rocker cover then adjust, 0.3 mm Hot, That suits inlet & Exhaust, Hope this info helps Scotty2611

Nulon E20 helps protect engines on cold start ups....basically. Here is a rough idea of how a Multi-grade engine oil works...on a chart. Usually, 20% of the volume of the bottle of engine oil, is additives.

when it's cold it's fine. so i need something thats a bit thicker when hot. for the first 500kms i currently am running cheap GTX 20w50 and a Ryco filter. i repeat i will be running a Motorcraft filter and decent oil from now on. thats why i'm asking. on my old engine i didn't care. she was rooted anyway
