I have an ED falcon in need of a new auto transmission.

Is their any advantage placing an AU EL or EF auto in instead of an ED auto?

i just put an au auto in my ef. not much difference but they are newer with less km's on them so they tend to be better condition.

the downside is that they have no dipsticks to check the fluid.

the upside is is you get a tickford one it may have adaptive shift which is better

hope this helps

I thought they all had adaptive driving technology.

the adaptive shift is purely ECU, IIRC the ED's had the best of the auto's

Are the BA auto's the same size as the AU auto's?

I am transplanting a BA XR8 with auto into my XP uterus, and can get the tunnel and floor out of a wrecked AU a lot easier (read: cheaper) than a BA, however, it doessn't matter how cheap it is if the gearbag won't fit!!

Slightly off topic, anyone know of a BA workshop manual besides the one ebay for $350?
