What tyre pressure for 235/45R17 tyres?

Depends!
Do you drive like a lunatic? Prefer feel over comfort? I'd say something around the 38psi cold mark, that's what I'd have. I've got 40psi in my rear 225/50 R16s and 35psi in the fronts.

when i had my steelies on about 3 years ago now i started at 35psi, and kept increasing the pressure and found i liked them at 40psi.
why do you have more psi in the reaR? wouldn't it be the opposite as the front has more weight? |

35-36 in the front.
when loaded up I run between the 38-40psi mark in the rear (ute) .. usually 38psi though. I have even wear over all tyres .. and I do heavy load driving and towing all of the time. I run Sava Intensa tyres (235/45R17s) and I have done close to 40,000km on this set of tyres and I still have 50% tread left all round. I make sure my alignment is right regularly and rotate them when needed ... also I don't abuse my tyres .... except for loading them up.

I run all of them with 40psi at the front.
Tyre guy told me "38, but don't be afraid to pump them up"

55? your a crazy man you know that :/ with low profile tyres you should keep them around the 38 to 40, for the 16's an lower id say around the 34- 36 or 32 on the light cars
not to sure about the45 an 55 idea. theyll go kaboom well the wont really but yea id use 45 tor a trailer that is constantly fully loaded with light truck tires, tyres designed to take more psi an with a higher ply rating
