DO NOT TAKE YOUR CAR THERE!

i bought a 9 inch diff, i took it to them and asked for a quote before repairing it (new 3.5 gears, LSD, seals and bearings)
i get a call back telling me it's done and to pick it up, i wasnt impressed but i didnt let it show.
i payed my $1200, picked it up, put it in my ute and voila - oil p****d out of the seals on BOTH sides. it also only spun 1 wheel.

so i pulled it out and gave it to them - they said 'no you didnt tell us to put seals and bearings in it, just the gears and LSD'.
by this point in time i was not impressed but i said 'look just tighten the lsd up and put the bearings and seals in'.
$150 later, and i put it back in the car, and guess what - NO LSD. and after a few months i noticed a weep of oil from the front diff seal (where tailshaft end is).

so rather than going back, i decided to take it to a guy i was recommended in the first place who works out of his shed.
i watched him pull it all apart and rebuild it.
the lsd clutch pack was in the wrong way, there was more play in the centre than you could believe (i could not believe it didnt break), the axles were bent and the splines were almost stripped, and the gears weren't blueprinted and appeared to be a s**t cheap brand (hence the reason i had a nasty whine in the cabin).

so if you want your diff to last, do not use this mob.
the guy is a criminal. he actually IS, i know someone who knew exactly who he was when i told them the problem i faced with the diff.
i have also heard alot of stories from this mob, and i will not or never will recommend them unless they have changed management.

ther is actually a couple of places at wooloongabba that do diffs and transmission repairs, but but do not mix them up with THE DIFF SHOP!

Has quoted for a "basic" swap at $380... depends on difficulty level
That was the quote if the job takes the whole day.
