Hey guys, just after some info and past experiences with different diffs.
Looking at a 3.7 ratio but my mate reckon it may be too droney with zorst and auto.. so if anyone has a E series with 3.7 headers and exhaust if they can give me feed back on how it drives on highways, would be great. I daily get up to 100kmh but thats only for bout 3-4mins so not to fussed. Im still tossing up between 3.7 and 3.45. Im guessing 3.45 will be cheaper and more common because the Fairmonts had them factory correct? Any feedback would be awsome. Cheers |

i've got 3.9's in my 5L. 3" zorst and extractors with 1 muffler. revs at about 2500 (guessing as no tacho) at 100kph. drove it home form sydney where i bought it and it was o.k. but it had a hotdog reso on it then as well which i reckon made it more droney than without.
car is a daily and is not too bad. at least my engine note is something i can listen to all day everyday. not sure how it would be on a 6. 3.45's can be had from a wrecker for about 4-500 disc to disc. maybe even cheaper.

Awsome.. i reckon i may just go with the 3.45s disc to disc so then it'll just bolt right up..
my zorst has no resi but i think that the hotdog would have made ur trip a little louder |

Go 3.7's. I have 3.45s, mate has 3.7s. Little to no difference in noise/rpms. Performance wise, it will make a lot bigger difference. If you have 3.23s, 3.45s will be a waste of time.

ef falcon 6 would have 3.08 diff. i agree though. 3.45's is still a long 1st gear.
