just found out the carrier bearings on the ea are on the way out.(diff)

would it be cheaper to get them replaced or try my luck with a complete 2nd hand diff?

Well you can pick up open diffs for sweet f all these days, I gave my old EF one away, so I'd say that'd be the way to go if you can swap it yourself.
