XR models should have the alloy tailshaft.

All longwheel base models (Wagons, Fairlanes, Utes) also have the alloy tailshaft, except for some early utes.

Cheers

Auto XRs are a bit hit n miss with the alloy shafts as theyre still speed limited.
AFAIK V8 driveshafts are the same.

I was sure only EL onwards got alloy driveshafts, and perhaps the EB GT and Sprint.
My ED doesnt have one, but the EL does.

Speed limited = speed limited lol, pretty sure its self explanatory? Theyre limited to 180km/hr.
Sturmovik - nope, EF XR manuals will have them. Whats your ED?

No, autos are limited to 180. As such most dont come with alloy shafts. Manual XRs arent limited and have alloy shafts.

Like I said Fords all over the place, I've seen several XRs that were auto with steel shafts, and every manual has had alloy. But, I've seen one EF XR6 auto with an alloy shaft. I cant comment on boxcars specifically though as I've only seen and played with EF/ELs.

Ride: EB2 Ghia,Mighty Boy,Eb1 Xr8 5spd

Location: ** In the Shed! **

I have 2 Eb Xr8 5spds, both have the alloy tailshaft. I have seen EB wagons, auto & manual with alloy shafts. Must be due to length? My Eb2 Ghia I6 has a steel shaft in it. I also have 3 or 4 spare steel shafts in the shed.

I have seen auto EB Xr6's with the steel tailshaft too, but these day's it's hard to know what's factory, most of these car's would have done a set of uni's at least once by now.....

Cheers
