The diff in my EB is making a whining sound at speeds under 80 K's. I know the diff is on the way out but was wondering if anyone knows of anything I can do to it to prolong it's life for a little bit longer until I can afford a full reco LSD to put in it?
I've been told that by putting new diff oil in it then it should quieten things down alot. My diff doesn't vibrate or shudder, It just has that annoying whining sound.

Any help/advice would be greatly appreciated.

Cheer's,

revcore :)

I'd change the diff oil regardless, especially if it hasn't been changed in a while.

There should be a selection of additives available from any of your local auto shops, all of which claim to quieten diff's and gearboxes, no real recommendation from me but i think im runnin some Nulon stuff in my gearbox, prolly has quietened it down a touch.

Other than that run some heavy LSD oil in it a 85+ visco one.

Cheers jared

MY 3.23 has whined since I got it.. It doesn't really mean the diff is on its way out.
Although the sound of grinding barrings does :)
