Finally arrived today!
Everything has been sitting there for 2 weeks, apart from the rear springs, which got lost in Whitelines warehouse :x
Anyway, I'll post some "before" pics up, and pics of the stuff (those bars are f**k P-H-A-T).

"after" pics will come next weekend, along with a report of how it all handles, and what the 3.45 diff is like.
I can't f**k wait :D :D

they are made like that, to have them be facing the same direction on both sides you would require a totally different wheel.

the inside leads on the one side and trails on the other.

I'm 99.99% sure you can't actually put them on 'backwards' without them being on the wrong way round.

I'm racking a big jack from work, and I got two bottle-jacks lying around to hold the diff up.

Ball joints are pretty fresh.

nd I don't have the cash left to do all the bushes (in polyurethane).
I'll grab some new swaybar link bushes, but that'll probably do for now.
Down the track I'll rip 'em all out and replace with polyurethane, just not yet :D

And i still cant beleive for the same things you got it a few hundred chesaper than i did through whiteline themselves!! :? Oh well, I'm still happy too.

You are doing the diff as well arent you?

But did you have to wait OVER a month for yours nicco? :D
I would have gladly paid a couple of hundred more, so I could have had them last week, then I'd already have it in!!! :x :x

Ha ha, this is true!! Ohh yeah, and sorry for stealing that last set of sprngs again!! :lol:

I am keen to hear what difference the XR arms make too. Yeah, you really should install everything then take it for a fang, then do the diff and arms!! Just to tell what difference they make!! :P

Good news all.
Postponed everything this weekend, and doing it all Sunday.
And no, I won't be leaving the diff and arms out just to do a comparo :D
Too much hard work :D
First thing on the cards is to take a VL driving mate for a spin...

So what's it like, I hear you ask?
Like a f**k dream.
For starters, the 3.45 diff helps it off the line fantastically.
Power down with the new springs/shocks, lsd and XR upper arms is nuts.
To upset the rear end (ie. have fun :P), you have to really pedal it hard.

First thing you noticewhile driving along is that it's firm, but not harsh.
Bumps are absorbed and then gone, no "floaty" feeling.

Front end is ultra responsive, although I am running a f**k of neg-camber ATM (no camber kit, I'll see what the alignment report says and decide if it needs it).

Hitting a fast sweeper at about 100klicks (okay, a little bit over the limit, but I had the road blocked off for my testing :D), it corners flat and fast.
It want's you to feed in more speed.
No understeer at all, the front end just grips and grips.

Taking it down a mountain pass, with tight 60k corners, is even better.
It dips in hard, grips, and you can power out REAL quick.
The corners are all linked together, and it feels like a slalom ski course.

Where with the old s**t, it used to understeer scarily when tipped in a bit too fast, now the front tips in, and the back kicks out just a bit, to let you know you're on the edge.
It never feels like wanting to lose grip, and it never feels ragged when you drive it ham-fistedly.

Out of tight hairpins, you can rip the back out nice and controllable like, enough to scare your girlfriend, but it never goes out too far, and kicks back to straight in a second.

So is it worth your $1000? f**k yes.
It's one thing being quick in a straight line, but having someone behind at the start of a corner, then gone by the time you exit it, makes me feel all warm and fuzzy inside.

Amen. I gave my EL the whiteline treatment over a year ago, and the 3.45 a few months ago. It's a whole different level of handling. And when having fun, it's completely predicatble, and the transistion from grip to drift is smooth - but a whole lot harder to get to (more so with 235 rubber all round).
