sway bars are funny things, I don't know why you want to put one on. I am assuming you are going to put on a thicker (heavier) one.

Something that you need to be aware of: It is a general rule that, if you tighten up one end of the car (i.e.: make it stiffer) you loosen up the other end.

For instance, if you put a heavier front bar on, you will end up with terminal oversteer, and conversely, if you put a heavier rear bar on, you get (more) terminal understeer.

Most cars have built in terminal understeer, as it is what the average driver can cope with. That is, when the car ploughs straight ahead, the impulse is to hit the brakes.

Let me give you a practical lesson.

I lowered my EL wagon, using Whiteline stuff, and put in a set of re-set rear springs (leaf type) with an extra leaf fitted. In order to get the car rebalanced, I had to put in a heavier front bar. With this combination, I can truthfully say I can corner as well as an Audi A4. Prior to that it understeered like a $%#&!

I reckon XR6's have a really good combination of ride and handing

Here endeth the lesson :x :x

P.S.: Whiteline stuff is as good as anybody elses
