very old post I know, but I have finally gotten the car engineered
No dramas at all, he was very happy with all the work, said the front rails were heaps stronger than factory as the are fully seam welded, mentioned the heat treating to him and he hadnt heard of it

Thats excellent to hear.. I've looked at your writeup at one of the other ford sites many a time now..
one thing I've been thinking about alot lately is the AU ECU and associated electrics in the EL merged to the AU loom.. did you do that yourself or was it a shop job ?? I've been wanting to do that for ages to take advantage of the sequential injection.... If you did it yourself, how hard was it and did you happen to record wiring details? rgds Frank |

basically I am running the AU looms in the dash and in the engine bay. Also all of the engine bay is basically AU, ABS, booster, master cylinder etc. then it was a matter of merging the loom for the rear end of the car, which wasnt too hard. All the work I have done, the only hjelp I eneded up getting was for the central locking. Ended up using after market solenoids to get it to work.

the dash/heater box/climate control etc are EL, while the cluster is AUII as is the BCM ECU lock etc

Cool, so essentially you have most put all the AU stuff in and just joined up the rear looms..
looks like I have to add sourcing a trashed AU to the list of things to do when the supercharger is done. how did you go getting the au facia to fit and do you have any photos of it? I don't believe I've seen it in the writeup. |
