fuk mate, lucky only small damage hey. are you sure you dont want to tell me where and who you got them from, even through pm? those studs look like my mates did after some C*** undid his wheel nuts and it came off on the highway. not trying to argue about hubadaptors here mate but did u use the right mag nuts? when i got mine i had to try a few different style nuts before i found some that fit properly, heaps of nuts i tried were only a few mm short and the nut bottomed out before doing up properly but it was very very hard to notice and it would have put heaps of extra stress on the studs, just seems a bit odd if the other side was loose to

As stated lucky it wasn't on the 100kmh zone! Not only would have you been up s**t creek without a paddle but if the wheel hit someone at that speed it would be all over!?

The front hub adaptors have nothing for the wheels to center bore locate on. It is easy not to have the nuts fully seated in the taper thus the nuts working loose when driving on them. Was a common problem on early holdens with some types of crome steel wheels and tapered nuts.

Far out! I'm glad to read that nobody was hurt.

How are the rear hub adapters? Are they tight & all good?

Here i was thinking i may get some hub adapters or even make some to fit some nice commodore wheels to my Hz panelvan, i think i'll forget that & just upgrade to commodore disc brakes all around!

did any one notice there is no centre spigot on the adapters. the wheel studs are not ment to carry the car. the centre spigot is meant to carry the car, the wheel studs are only meant to hold the wheel tight against the hub.

There is a lip on the inner of the adaptor but the diameted may have beem too small for the rims, so an adaptor for the adaptor may have been needed. Im surprised grade 8 studs werent used. The supplier really should be contacted so as they can possibly re-engineer the adaptors to avoid possible litigation and a recall should be actioned.

1: Agree.
2: rare :)

This is also a roadworthy requirement to have the hubs take load.
I had issues with my ute as the rims were resting on the studs, nothing centre caps didn't hide.

Also the adapters show wear on the outside mating face from the rim,
They seem to have been driven loose, as the outer edge is marked and scored a little instead of even mating.

Also yes, they should of had longer and higher rating studs,

I doubt there would be a recall as theres prolly a clause somewhere.

Yes. The rim is designed to be centre bore located.

I noticed that too. Combination of factors. They are never going to be as solid as the original hub, just have to be more wary of stuff like loose wheelnuts with them.
I seem to recall a thread similar to this a while ago, someone blaming hub adaptors for something similar?
It as well came down to loose wheelnuts from memory?

I recently had an incident in my car a while back... i hit a gutter at a very fast rate.. im running hub adapters and they stood up very well. Maybe u were just unlucky..
