will have to cut the floor IIRC correctly and make up a new stick...
It was done to a early model wagon on here somewhere I thought?

Had to shorten the drive shaft and cut a larger hole in the trans tunnel. Apart from that it was all good. Oh and you will need a new sandwich plate.

Na... Pretty sure the ED console has the clearance but the EL console is a crappier design and wont let the "kink" in the stick work under the console due to lack of room... The ED console has more room under it because they housed the cruise module under it... In EL this module was deleted and made part of the actuator so they space where it was also vanished from under the console (if the car has cruise be aware this module will need relocating as far as I'm aware)...
So answer is no... Unless you change the extension housing for a the shorter E series one (handy if you have a stuffed box around too)...

Its only the extension housing thats longer IIRC... Sit them side by side and make sure nothing else is different... Then see how you go with the extension housing and whatever linkages are in there... How compatible it all is I'm not sure... But it makes sense and I can't see why it can't be done... Be interesting to see photos and info of what you discover along the way...

Think me and dad are just going to mess around and see what we can sort out... If needed to, i know a good fiberglass.. might just make console 50mm longer..

EDIT Thanks to TROYMAN for pointing out the differences in input shafts between BA and E series, I hereby retract this message and retreat to my corner in search of a 90's World Class T5 or a Non World Class rebuild kit. |

Okay i have the same question but for the V8...
Will an AU V8 T5 box fit into an EL V8... Or will it be the same issue of of mismatch lengths? I have a box lined up, I just need to know if shell fit.
