Out of curiosity will a EF sedan diff bolt into a EB ser 3 sedan...???

and if so is it a straight bolt on or are there mods required...??

Im sure one of you guru's should be able to help me out...I always thought they did but im not 100% sure thus why the question, Id hate to get both diffs out then realize that they just wont fit...

Thanx in advance Kev

EB series 3 eh? lol!
As for the diff, it will bolt in fine, upper control arms are different, but will still bolt in. Just go for it, it'll fit.

Cheers

Series 3....I dunno its a 1993 series 2 update which was earned the nickname series 3 or so I was told..go figure...Im not much of a Ford nut so I can only go on what im told....

I do love my older Fords tho...(not wanting the flame wars to start I love them all...most of my knowledge is with GM, Chrysler and earlier Fords pretty much anything pre 85 so if its injected its all greek to me...LOL no offence there either folks...)

Cheers Kev

EF/EL diff has totally different handbrake cabeling. The disc calipers are in a different position and require brackets on chassis rail and complete brake line to the master cylinder due to the way the calipers are fed.

oh yeah... I forgot that the ELs and presumeably the ELs had drum hand brakes. Meaning, that the axles have to be taken off.. and the backing plate swapped with one from an EB/ED. The calliper brackets need replacing (which will go with the EB/ED backing plates aswell.). The axles can stay, just the backing plate and the drum assembly that need replacing.

Cheers

i got an EF diff in my eb

you have to change all the backing plates etc for the callipers. and also the rear brake line is different.the breather is in a different position and requires rebending of the rear brake line
