will it fit? mates got a 6spd box out of a ve ss, what box are they exactly? tremec?? i can't seem to find any info on what the box actually is. he's selling it cheap so hopefully it would be a good choice?....

Theyre a T56 of sorts arent they? sure it'll fit, the current falcon T56 fits in there so I dont see why not. You'll need a new tailshaft as well.

ah yeh i thought they were a t56, yeh new tailshaft, crossmember, hydraulic clutch etc, but it'll be worth it.

Dunno, the 6th gear is a really tall overdrive sort of gear isnt it? You'd need a fairly stout diff ratio to make use of it I'd imagine.
A mate of mine has a T56 from a BF in his ute, and it sits on 1300rpm IIRC at 100 in 6th. std ratio for whatever XH utes had. Ticky motor too... now he's gettin an AU VCT XR6 donk...  bastard

The input shaft lengths on the T56 are different between models.
I don't know what the length is on a VE T56, but you should probably do some research into whether it will cause an issue.
