i could be wrong but arent v8 diffs a bit different to the i6 ones? different something or others to make the round spinny bit spin in the way of the direction? lol i dont know specifically im just pretty sure i read they arent interchangable the its like xx spline and i6 is yy spline or something like that but im obviously no expert

all he need change is the uni part take the v8 one off and put the i6 part on as the uni is bigger on the v8

it will fit straight in..
the only thing different is if the eb dont have abs.. but you can still put it in, you will need to use the axles and backing plates from the ed to use abs on the eb diff.. why would you want to use a eb 3.27 diff when the ed xr6 has the same centre and has 3.45 instead of 3.27.. both diffs are 28 spline and the housings are the same i think its a backward step unless the ed diff is totally stuffed..
