I was aware that EB2 and ED Fairmont Ghias had real woodgrain on the door trims, but I didn't realise EF1 Fairmont Ghias did too. Seems they went to the plastic type from EF2 onwards. Does anyone know of an EF1 definitely with plastic woodgrain on the doors? Not a lot of that model around now. Interestingly the NF1 Fairlane Ghia had plastic door-woodgrain though, probably to match the spear above the glove box. The EF1 Fairmont Ghia didn't get that (only had ordinary colour spear with 'Ghia' badge in the centre).
Pics are of a car I saw close-up at a wrecker. Build date (I think) September 1994. Peeling varnish reveals the timber underneath. You could restore and stain them any shade you wanted, to match other woodgrain in your car.
