Bob Jane will quote you a life of up to 100,000km out of their allrounders, but the drawback is they don't stick. The old grand rally tryes used to wear the road out before the tread wore out, but again, no-one would touch them unless you wanted something only marginally better than bare rims or were the tightest a***hole in town. Fact is that people who go sticky tyres get less life out of them for two reasons. 1. The tread is a softer compound and wears out quicker. 2. People who like sticky tyres are often giving the tyres a hard workout and using the extra grip they payed for, thereby wearing them out even quicker. By comparison, people who buy hard, long life tyres are not interested in taking a corner hard and stepping the a** out. Nor do those people, in my opinion, have any regard for their safety, or other people's safety in an emergency.... especially at freeway speeds. The other thing people don't consider is the age of the tyre, not just the distance it has travelled. I replace tyres when they're worn out, or every 3 years. Since I don't do many km per year, and a set of tyres probably lasts me 3 years, I don't see the point in saving $150 on a set of tyres to get cheap, long wearing ones and replace them when they're only 50% worn. fair comments - but remember this thread is on people wearing their tyres out because they are not checking their camber and alignment - nothing to do with the type of tyres... just lazy drivers! lol

supply & fit BOGE sports shocks all around, fitting of my EL GT swaybar (on order) - $520 seems pretty reasonable to me?

I'd fit the bar yourself.
It's a piece of piss. Probably take you only half an hour, and that's working slow and constantly grabbing the wrong sized ring spanner Never heard of 'BOGE', so I don't know what there price is, so can't really comment on overall price. Having said that, if you've got spring compressors, or can borrow some, I'd DIY... Always cheaper!

I have BOGE front shocks in mine (steady, i figured you would have got the same... mheh) and they are really good
Feel a lot smoother and more comfortable than the KYBs in the back, which seem a harsher over speed bumps and stuff. But the turn into corners is still fantastic, so they arent too soft. Pulling back of my trusty old receipt again : 293.10 for the front struts. And i had all my install done on 2 swaybars, 4 springs, 4 struts and shonky wheel alignment done for $350 So $520 aint to bad i spose |

I'm glad that i'm not the only one with front end alignment problems. My EFs just chewed the crap out of a grands worth of S02s because the knobs at Bob Jane don't know what they're doing (after 3 attempts at it!). They had the camber set at -1.25 degrees on the right. and -0.85 degrees on the left.. this results in two pretty f**k tyres. Time to find someone who actually knows how to setup a lowered car...
