looking at a diff from an XH.Will this fit into my XG?

Any diff from an E series should bolt up to the leaf springs.

There may be differences in the brake types that are used, but you can always swap your brakes to the new diff.

Also check the handbrake brackets, as the new diff may not have then welded on etc.
