Hi ,
I have a XH 5sp manual gearbox.I was wondering is there any diferences between it and the transmission in the El sedans ie. all ratios. i have noticed already its got a diferent input shaft spline. And what is the standard diff ratio and an El sedan thanks, Brad |

It shouldnt have a different input spline.
It should just be a normal 10 spline like all the other falcons.

hmmm thats strange.... its diffinatly different i pulled it out of my old ridden off sedan where some dodgey *mechanic* installed the box as an automatic conversion.I will add he put in the wrong flywheel, wrong clutch plate ,wrong pressure plate to go with it and i thought i could use that flywheel to do the clutch in my el saphire.Nup that didnt work.but the box has xh written on top of it and the clutch plate fitted the sapphire and not it...and the diff i dont know what the ratio was but the car went like crap

maybe its a modified vn commodore t5 that has been fitted to the falcon...
otherwise the clutch splines in the falcons have always been 10 spline from back in the x series up to the end of the au.. xf and ea t5 had shorter gear ratios in the box compared to eb2 t5 onwards.. std el has a 3.08 diff ratio. |
