hey, just curious whether anyone has any ideas about some body roll problems in an ED XR6. When cornering the rear end seems to roll a lot which then leads to the rear end getting quite a bit loose. It basically seems like the descriptions i've read pf the EF roll oversteer problem, which i thought supposedly, an ED XR6 wouldnt have problems with.
The problem was shocking on bad tyres (newton nt5000) as the car would spin the back out even when going around a corner relatively slowly. With some decent tyres the slipping out isnt realy a problem (it still rolls though), but if taking certain corners at high speed, the back seems to roll excessively and be very unstable; the back eventually becoming loose (which my dad has confirmed after following me:P). The problem is generally better the tighter the corner, i presume as the rear end slip sort of aids the cars turning.
The car has king spring lows on the back, nolathane bushes and new monroe gt shocks so i doubt those are the problems. Only thing i can think of is maybe the sway bar is shot. Any ideas or fixes would be appreciated:P
cheers.

yeah already did the bushes, didn't notice a difference. Idno about the shocks, my dad has bilsteins on the back of his sprint and it doesnt roll, but it slides the back out fairly easily.

Get GOOD tyres, and back off on the accelerator, my mild AU XR8 with a mechanical locker doesnt have that drama, neither does a mates 430rwhp ED Turbo with a mechanical locker, the problem is in your right foot.

They are good, they're 235 eagle f1 gs-d3. It isnt my right foot either, it will do it with no throttle and will not make any noises, just procede to wobble around. Plus your au would have the double wishbone setup at the back which isn't realy revelvant comapring it to the live axle(unless it's a ute).

30mm front sway bar will stiffen the whole car up, made a world of difference to my car. I havn't got the rear one as i dont think i need it, but it may make it handle even better again.

If it does that, either your shocks are completely f**k, or your rear control arm bushes are so flogged out it isn't funny

I have had and seen Nolathane bushes, and they are crap. They turn to powder, split, and are not made very well ( inside, no knurling like SuperPro ), and SuperPro use a far better grease.

How do I compare? Just get a Nolathane Bush and a Super Pro Bush and let em sit in the weather for a year and then compare?

Rebush the sway bar. 20c says the bushes are f**k. will only cost about $80 odd to do the job yourself

going stiffer is not gunna solve your problem, my ea is almost rigid in the back end and will oversteer under 0 throttle. pre irs falcons are renouned for having traction problems, they have a 4 link, better suited to drag racing with a castor adjustment. particularly pre ef which some people acount to setup, but i believe it's a weight thing to. my ea only weighs 1385 which as far as i know one of the lightest falcons ever made. that doesn't help traction.
my bf weighs bit under 1600 i think (also has irs though) and in the dry it has awsome tractability but in the wet when told to it can also be quite the wheelspin machine. the softer (xr harder than stock) suspension does actually help though.
