Hey lads would a EF xr6 diff be a straight swap in a EF gli? I heard somthing about the control arms not matching up from XR to the base model is this true?

EF to EF will be fine.

EL diff in EF car will require the EL uppers, If the cars lowered you'll need the EL XR upper arms. also wilh EL diffs in EF's you'll need the handbrake cable and watts link.

So Yes, EF XR diff into EF GLi is a straight swap with the same mountinf locations.

However the EF XR upper arms bolt onto the Chassis different, but this will only concern you if you have a lowered car.

I have fitted a EL into an EF the bolts line up as per std mount points but I also installed Series 2 EF upper arms with neoprene inserts so I think they were the same as EL the hand brake cable fits if you have the one that comes with the diff and connect to the original joiners.

Yours is a made up XR so you have the std mounts.
