Hey all.
My mates got a 93 tickford eb xr6 and I have a 92 eb spack.
For one reason or another we are planning on swapping suspension.
Is it hard to swap over suspension from these two.
Any advice on how to do it.
And will anything be different eg he has abs will there be clips and s**t I doubt it but never know.

if you plan on swapping the ABS you will need the sensors acutators and such. but just a straight suspension swap shouldn't be to hard .Pretty pointless but not to hard

i think you will find that the s pac and xr6 suspension is exactly the same std..
but if the s pac suspension is in better condition? i guess it wont hurt..

as mentioned also depending on abs and what exactly are you swapping over? just springs and shocks?? or everything??

if he has abs and yours dont there will be issues with the front stub axle as the abs model has the provisions for the abs sensor and the non abs model dont...
and the rear diff arms in abs models have small holes for the abs wire to clip into..

Im sure his is lower then mine. Didn't the xr6 ones come out 30mm lower. I know its not much but the stance looks mad. And its not stupid low.
Correct me if im wrong tho.
Its just the springs and shocks that we are swapping out.
The xr6 is his. Got 200000ks on it and mine has 180000 but his handels so much better.
How do I change it out?? And how long would it take

if its just springs and shocks.
front ..jack the whole front of the car up.(on stands if you have them) remove the wheels.(obviously)
undo the lower shock bolt from the lower control arm, undo the 3 bolts on top of the shock tower in the engine bay.. now you can either undo and split the upper ball joint so you can get the shock/sping out..
or (this is what i do) undo the 4 nuts that hold the upper control arm to the inner guard and pull the upper arm towards the guard and pull the shock/spring assembly out..
i would say about 2 hours each car for the front..

rear.. jack the rear of the car up put the body on stands, remove the wheels, fold your rear seat forward and remove the plastic cover, undo the top shock bolt..
then remove the bottom shock bolt from the diff housing and pull the shock out through the bottom.
then if the spring hasnt already fallen loose push down on the diff and pull it out..
rear should take about an hour each car..

Ok it seems pretty easy. Thanks for that.
Is there anything I have to replace if I do this. Like washers or anything.

Plenty of soft drinks on hand, some small buckets to keep bolts separate, IE 4 buckets, one per corner of the car so you don't mix things up. some decent ring spanners, Car stands!!

If your like me, some thing to clean the parts before they get reinstalled, no point installing dirty gear. if you have time, a lick of paint on the springs to pimp them up! Gatorade. Hotdogs for lunch, beer, unless you are both young fella who should not have any alcohol in your systems when you drive.

Well I have 4 axel stands. Two for each end of each car.
Good call on the buckets for bolts. Seeing we are working on grass and dirt haha.
Ill grab a s**t laod of water. Haha.

I might actually degrease the stuff before it goes into my car/ the xr6 is going to be a paddock basher so it dosnt need cleaning.
I would paint it up but they are just black anyway.
Thanks man.
Yea were young fellas. So the beers for after haha.

So we did the fronts today . One broken axel stand later. Haha. Went pretty well. Easier to undo the ball joint then the 4 nuts I think.
Didn't clean anything tho.

Rears tomorro. And xr6 garnish. And steering wheel maybe.
